Bindery Operator – Print ProductionSir Speedy Longwood is a locally owned and nationally recognized printing, signage, and marketing company looking for an experienced Bindery Operator to join our production team. We are a fast-paced, creative work environment where teamwork, accountability, and quality matter. We work with a wide variety of local and regional businesses, helping our clients bring their brands to life through print, signage, marketing materials, and more. Our production team plays a major role in the customer experience.

As our Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for taking printed work through the finishing process and making sure every job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to our quality standards.Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:Operate bindery and finishing equipment including cutters, folders, creasers, scoring and perforating equipment, drills, laminators, and binding equipmentCut, fold, score, perforate, collate, pad, drill, stitch, staple, laminate, and bind printed materialsPerform coil/spiral binding and other finishing processes as requiredRead and follow job tickets to ensure specifications, quantities, and finishing requirements are correctPrioritize jobs based on production schedules and due datesInspect finished work for accuracy and quality before it moves to the next stageCatch and communicate production or quality issues before a job is completedCount, package, label, and prepare completed jobs for customer pickup, delivery, or shippingAssist with shipping and receiving as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe production areaPerform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of bindery equipmentMonitor supplies and communicate when materials need to be reorderedWork closely with our production, customer service, and sales teams to keep jobs moving and meet customer deadlinesAssist with other production responsibilities as workload requiresWhat We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, productive, and comfortable working with their hands. The right person will:Have previous experience in print production, bindery, finishing, manufacturing, or a similar production environmentBe comfortable operating production equipment and learning new machineryHave strong attention to detail and qualityBe able to read measurements and work accurately with rulers and basic production specificationsUnderstand the importance of deadlines and production schedulesBe proactive and willing to take initiative without needing constant directionBe able to identify poor-quality or incorrect work and bring it to management's attentionCommunicate well with coworkers and work effectively as part of a teamBe comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change throughout the dayTake pride in keeping their workspace and equipment clean and organizedBe dependable and consistently show up ready to workExperience We'd Love to See Experience with any of the following is a plus:Commercial printing or digital print productionGuillotine/paper cuttersFolding equipmentCreasing, scoring, and perforating equipmentCoil or spiral bindingPaddingLaminatingDrillingStitching/staplingShipping and packagingPrintSmith or similar print management softwareExperience with every piece of equipment is not required. We are willing to train the right person who already has a strong production mindset and mechanical aptitude. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on production position.
