Bindery Folder/Cutter OperatorWe are currently recruiting for a Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for performing manual and machine tasks related to the setup, operation, and maintenance of flatbed cutters and MBO folding machines within a print manufacturing environment.The Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator will produce high-quality printed and folded materials according to job specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.Responsibilities:Set up and operate MBO folding machines and flatbed cutters, including feeder, folding, cutting, and delivery adjustmentsConfigure folder equipment for special processes such as perforating, scoring, slitting, trimming, and various fold styles including parallel, gate, and accordion foldsRead and interpret job tickets, layouts, and specifications to ensure accurate folding and cuttingVerify accuracy of folds, final sizes, and crossovers on signatures while ensuring no marking or defectsPerform additional bindery operations such as cutting, punching, shrink-wrapping, stitching, padding, and round corneringTroubleshoot folder machine issues and correct process-related problems to maintain production efficiencyMonitor production runs for quality, consistency, and efficiency through regular product inspectionPerform routine preventative maintenance on folder and cutter machines and document maintenance activity as requiredComplete required documentation and data entry to support accurate machine records and inventory trackingLoad paper onto folder equipment and prepare basic startup functionsFollow proper safety procedures while operating bindery equipmentAdhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing PracticesAssist with cleanup and maintain a neat and orderly work areaPerform other duties as requestedQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience operating MBO or similar folding equipment in a commercial print or packaging environmentExperience operating a flatbed cutter preferredBasic knowledge of mechanical maintenanceAbility to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devicesAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, fractions, and volumeMust be able to stand regularly and walk frequentlyMust be able to use hands and fingers in continuous and repetitive motionsMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assist$20 - $23 an hour
