This role also ensures timely claim submission and follow - up, reconciles claims, and resolves issues to support appropriate adjudication. The Billing Specialist responds knowledgeably to a wide range of complex denial issues when working with insurance companies.Job Outcomes You Must Get:Follow Electromed mission and core values, while striving to achieve company goalsUnderstand and adhere to local State and Federal healthcare regulatory and compliance rulesReview billing files for appropriate modifiers, diagnosis codes, patient demographic information and insurance prior to submissionUtilize multiple electronic billing, medical retrieval systems, and payer websites to resolve insurance denials and patient issuesCommunicate effectively with internal customers, including Reimbursement and Accounting DepartmentsEnsure claims are processed and followed up in a timely manner to meet accounts receivables aging and cash receipt goalsReview patient statements to ensure accuracyComplete payment reconciliation according to contracted payer fee schedulesWork to achieve monthly team goalsEducate patients on complex billing situationsAccurately record information to internal systemsComplete other miscellaneous tasks as needed to help support the reimbursement teamJob Outcomes RequirementsTwo years post-secondary education or equivalent work experienceExperience with insurance billing/reimbursement, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) preferredExperience with third - party and government payersProficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, WordExperience with insurance claim softwareExperience with professional claim submission preferredHigh attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to handle multiple prioritiesSelf-starter, motivatedAbility to follow through professionally when working with various payersAbility to work independently and as a contributing team memberKnowledge of insurance requirements and ability to evaluate medical justification to support appropriate reimbursementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated exceptional customer service skillsAbility to prioritize and organizeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThe compensation range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00 hourly with the final agreed upon rate to be based on individual experience, skills, and qualifications.
