Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to support a healthcare organization in New Jersey. This role will focus on resolving outstanding A/R, denied and rejected claims, and suspended claims within Epic.
Responsibilities:
- Work assigned A/R and suspended claim queues within Epic
- Research and resolve denied, rejected, and stalled claims
- Review payer responses, clearinghouse rejections, eligibility, authorization, and claim data issues
- Rebill corrected claims, submit appeals, and escalate payer issues as needed
- Prioritize high-dollar and aged accounts to reduce the collections backlog
- Document follow-up activity and ensure timely claim resubmission
- Post payments and adjustments accurately
- Partner with the Financial Project Manager to identify recurring issues and workflow gaps
- Support efforts to improve cash flow and reduce future denials
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of A/R follow-up, claims resolution, and denials experience
- Working knowledge of DRG coding
- 3+ years of Epic Revenue Cycle experience
- Experience working through clearinghouse processes
