Billing Specialist (Medical)

Abacus Solutions Group is currently recruiting for a Billing Specialist in the Laurel area. This position will prepare client invoices for engineering and professional services projects. The Billing Specialist reviews project information and supporting documentation, prepares invoices in accordance with contract requirements, and maintains accurate billing records.
Prepare and submit invoices for engineering and professional services projects, mostly cost-plus fixed fee type. Review labor, expenses, project budgets, and contract terms to ensure accurate project set-up and billing. Work closely with project managers to gather billing information and resolve invoice-related questions. Maintain accurate billing records, contract information, and invoice history in Deltek Vantagepoint. Prioritize daily billing activities to meet strict client and government submission deadlines. Identify and resolve billing discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate invoice submission. Prepare billing reports and provide documentation to support internal and external audits as needed.
Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in an A/E/C or professional services environment working on cost-plus fixed fee invoices Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field Experience with cost-plus, time-and-materials, and government-related contracts preferred Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint Strong understanding of project accounting principles and indirect cost structures Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
