Master File Maintenance SpecialistThe Master File Maintenance Specialist is an integral part of Latham's Global Finance team and will be responsible for maintaining and managing the master billing file for assigned practice offices at the firm, while opening new client matters and timekeepers, validating complex rate logic, checking conflicts data for accuracy and completeness, and following up on missing or incomplete data. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Responsibilities & QualificationsOther key responsibilities include:Verifying and opening all client matters and timekeeper master setups, including billing rates and exception rate hierarchiesConfirming client arrangements for special rate needsEnsuring the file set-up is done appropriatelyEvaluating and inputting the appropriate billing and exception rates into the Elite billing systemCoordinating with attorneys, legal secretaries, HR managers, and accounting personnel regarding the receipt of required data, supporting documentation, and approvals in accordance with billing policies and proceduresProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWe'd love to hear from you if you:Possess knowledge of basic accounting principlesExhibit the ability to comprehend and accurately perform mathematical functionsDisplay the analytical skills needed to correctly comprehend and communicate dataAnd have:A high school diploma, preferably a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related fieldA minimum of one (1) year of experience in legal billing or billing audit within a professional services organizationA minimum of one (1) year of experience with the Elite Billing system, preferablyBenefits & Additional InformationSuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
