The Atlantic Group has partnered with a growing medical practice in the Plainville, NY area. They have an immediate need for a hands-on Billing Manager to join their team.
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced, hands-on Billing Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Billing Department. This individual will manage a team of employees across multiple billing functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management, along with proven experience leading and developing a team. This is a hands-on management position that requires someone who is comfortable overseeing daily workflows, troubleshooting billing issues, analyzing department performance, and working closely with executive leadership and physician partners.
Key Responsibilities
-Oversee daily billing operations, including claims processing, collections, and reimbursement.
-Manage, supervise, and develop a team across multiple billing functions.
-Oversee insurance verification, pre-authorizations, claims submission, and payment posting.
-Monitor insurance and patient A/R, ensuring timely follow-up and collections.
-Review billing reports and performance metrics, including days in A/R, to identify areas for improvement.
-Manage denials, appeals, claim corrections, and medical records requests.
-Maintain fee schedules, insurance contracts, and accurate coding information.
-Oversee monthly closing and billing reports.
-Develop and maintain department policies, procedures, and workflows.
-Partner with the COO and physicians to resolve billing issues and improve revenue cycle operations.
-Ensure compliance with insurance billing requirements and reimbursement guidelines.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree or CPC/CHC certification.
-3+ years of experience in a medical billing management or supervisory role.
-Strong hands-on experience in high-volume medical billing and revenue cycle operations.
-Previous experience managing a team.
-Experience with an electronic medical records (EMR) or practice management system preferred. (AdvancedMD experience is a strong plus.)
-Working knowledge of medical coding.
-Orthopedic, outpatient, or surgical practice experience strongly preferred.
