This role is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, managing documentation, assisting with billing processes, and ensuring timely and accurate communication with patients, payors, and attorneys. This position is primarily office-based, with occasional remote work opportunities depending on business needs.What You'll DoOpen, sort, and route incoming mailDistribute incoming faxes and manage outgoing fax communicationsCollect mail from the post office as neededHandle in-office mailing tasks, including responses to: Insurance correspondenceAttorney requestsVerification requests and subpoenasScan and attach correspondence to patient files in SalesforceSubmit claims via fax or mail as required by payor accountsRespond to medical records requests and issue invoices accordinglySend attorney follow-up letters and lien request follow-upsUpdate tasks and maintain accurate records in SalesforcePrepare and send new files to attorneysManage new case files through initial stages until shipment, as neededRespond promptly to patient and payor inquiriesMaintain accurate patient and payor information, including documenting all communicationsAssist with appeals by compiling and submitting supporting documentationFollow company billing policies and procedures consistentlyCommunicate any potential issues to the Billing Manager in a timely mannerPerform additional duties and special projects as assignedWhat You'll BringPrior experience in a medical office or medical billing environment is preferred, but not requiredComfortable working with computers, phones, and standard office equipmentProficiency with email and Microsoft OutlookStrong keyboarding and data entry skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly organized, self-motivated, and reliableFlexible and adaptable with strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentGood math and reading comprehension skillsStrong willingness to learn and grow professionallyAbility to maintain regular in-office attendancePhysical RequirementsWork is performed in a general office environmentFrequent sitting, typing, and use of hands/wrists for repetitive motionsRegular talking and use of communication devicesOccasional standing, walking, bending, and squattingAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs occasionallyRequires general vision and hearing capabilitiesWhy Join RS Medical?Supportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunities to learn and grow within medical billing and healthcare operationsExposure to legal and insurance billing processesOccasional flexibility with remote work
