Billing ManagerThe Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the billing department to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant revenue cycle processes. This role leads billing staff, manages invoicing and collections, and ensures alignment with organizational, local, state, and federal requirements. The Billing Manager plays a critical role in securing revenue, maintaining financial integrity, and supporting operational efficiency across the organization.Reporting Relationship :Reports To : Sr. Director of Healthcare Systems OperationsSupervises: Revenue Cycle Analysts and (other staff as assigned)Key Responsibilities:Billing Operations OversightManage the full billing cycle, including invoicing, collections, account reconciliation, and reportingEnsure timely and accurate submission of claims and invoicesMonitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balancesIdentify and resolve billing discrepancies and denialsTeam Leadership and DevelopmentSupervise, train, and support billing staff to ensure fiscal responsibility and accuracy and efficiencyConduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional developmentEstablish clear expectations and workflows to support best practices and team cohesionPolicy and Process ManagementDevelop, implement, and enforce billing policies and procedures IAW with local, state, and federal regulatory agenciesEnsure alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirementsContinuously evaluate processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyFinancial Reporting and AnalysisPrepare and analyze reports related to billing, accounts receivable, and cash flow, and revenue recoveryProvide insights and recommendations to leadership to support financial decision-makingMonitor key financial indicators and identify trends impacting revenueCompliance and AuditingEnsure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including Medicaid and other payer requirementsConduct internal audits of billing practices to ensure accuracy and adherence to policyCollaborate with Quality Assurance for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) effortsStakeholder RelationsProvide direction and solutions regarding any billing inquiries and disputes with internal and external stakeholdersMaintain professional and effective communication with payers and internal departmentsSupport cross-functional collaboration with clinical, administrative, and finance teamsReportingGenerate, analyze, and maintain reports within the electronic health record (EHR) system to support billing accuracy, revenue tracking, and oversight.Conduct routine internal audits of billing data to ensure alignment with documentation, coding standards, and payer requirements.Identify discrepancies, trends, and areas of risk through data analysis and reporting.Collaborate with clinical, compliance, and finance teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.Ensure data integrity within the EHR system to support accurate billing and reporting processes.Required Qualifications:EducationBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field requiredExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in billing, revenue cycle, or financeAt least 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferredExperience in healthcare or behavioral health billing strongly preferredSkills and CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and develop a teamKnowledge of billing systems, electronic health records, and payer requirementsStrong organizational and time management skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsFT RoleCompensation85,000 -100,000 AnnuallyBenefitsPaid vacationPaid Sick Time12 Paid HolidaysMedicalDentalVision403(b) PlanLife InsuranceLong-term & short-term disabilityEmployee assistance program (EAP)Family medical leaveTuition reimbursementBenefit options and eligibility vary by Fulltime and Part-time positions.
