Robert Half is partnering with a well-established project-based organization to identify a Billing & Collections Specialist . This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys owning the billing process from start to finish, working closely with project teams, and managing client accounts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly billing cycle from invoice creation through approval and distribution
- Prepare, review, and process customer invoices with a high degree of accuracy
- Handle change orders and support project-based billing activities
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and perform collection follow-up as needed
- Maintain billing documentation and ensure all required approvals are obtained
- Partner with Project Managers to support reporting, billing inquiries, and project financial tracking
- Track and obtain required subcontractor documentation, including lien waivers
- Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Reconcile billing data and maintain organized records for compliance purposes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and working with large data sets
- Experience managing high-volume customer accounts and billing activity
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across departments
- Experience with Sage 300 is a plus
- Construction, project-based, engineering, architecture, or professional services industry experience is highly preferred
