Bilingual Undergraduate Research Assistant (RA) – Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Community-Based RecruitmentWe are seeking a highly motivated and culturally competent undergraduate Research Assistant to support a community-based study focused on Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Chinese-American populations. This role involves direct outreach, bilingual communication, and administrative support, offering hands-on experience in participant recruitment and community-engaged research. Orientation and training on research ethics, recruitment protocols, and cultural sensitivity will be provided, as well as ongoing mentorship and supervision by the research team.
Application Deadline: 09/30/25ResponsibilitiesCommunity Outreach & Engagement Identify Chinese (Simplified & Traditional) organizations and businesses online that may support study outreach.Participate in in-person outreach activities as needed.Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with community leaders and organizational contacts.Recruitment Communication & Dissemination Share study announcements via Chinese-American online platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Instagram, forums, etc.).Distribute printed and digital materials to online/offline communities (e.g., churches, senior centers, cultural events).Make outreach phone calls and speak with representatives to build and maintain recruitment partnerships.Translate study materials (e.g., announcements, consent forms) into Chinese (Simplified & Traditional) when needed.Monitor and report responses and inquiries to the research team.Support, Strategy & Development Contribute to the development and improvement of recruitment strategies through team meetings.Maintain detailed recruitment logs and prepare status reports for team meetings.Participate in weekly team meetings and apply research ethics and best practices.Required QualificationsCurrently enrolled undergraduate student.Fluent in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and English (spoken and written).Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Interest in community-based research and Chinese-American communities.Responsible, organized, and able to work independently in a team environment.Prior experience in outreach or translation is a plus.Salary RangePlease see the URA U0095 Rates at MaterialsResume/CVBrief statement of interest (2-3 paragraphs)2 References
