This role is full-time, W-2 role, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Function
The Safety Manager will be responsible for tracking, documenting and supporting safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors for a specialty mechanical subcontractor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction safety practices that include but are not limited to excavation, electrical, welding and mechanical work.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to the workplace
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Conduct safety training and audits
- Lead and manage on-site safety teams
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Track safety training for employees, including new hires and ongoing training sessions.
- Maintain documentation on incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites.
- Manage safety documentation and records, including incident reports and training records.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Stay informed about advancements in construction safety practices and recommend improvements to existing programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have obtained OSHA 500
- Minimum 8 years of safety experience, with at least 5 years of management experience.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with construction processes, equipment, and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or equivalent are preferred.
