The medical receptionist will report to the health center administrator.Patient Populations Served:Age of patient populations served: Pediatric (0 - 19 yrs); Adult (19 – 64 yrs); and Geriatric (65 yrs & older).

Non-age specific task (N/A) population: Bariatric patients with BMI greater than 40, or greater than 35 with weight-related comorbidities. Patients may have exceptional communication needs, developmental delays, or be at the end of life. Other precautions, including isolation, may be required for all populations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for all front desk functions in a primary care settingSchedule appointmentsSchedule specialty and ancillary appointmentsAnswer phonesComplete managed care referralsObtain pre-certs when neededResponsible for patient registration data entryVerify insuranceDaily batching of encounter formsLog referrals in the tracking systemFollow up for reports from specialistsArrange transportation when needed for patientsAssist patients when neededReview patient's charts and encounter forms for completionFile reports, file chartsPerform other duties as assignedPHMC Compliance Responsibilities:Understands and adheres to PHMC compliance standards as they appear in the PHMC Code of Conduct, Whistleblowers, and Conflict of Interest Policies.Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and PHMC regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.Comply with HIPAA and confidentiality policies and procedures as they apply to the job.Comply with the Department of Public Health (DPH), The Joint Commission, and other accreditation and regulatory agencies' standards.Adhere to all PHMC policies and procedures.Knowledge and adherence to infection control and environment of care guidelines and procedures as described in the annual education module.Job Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
