Role Description The Bilingual Forensic Interviewer is a full-time, on-site role based in Beaumont, TX. This role conducts neutral, fact-finding forensic interviews with children and vulnerable individuals in both English and Spanish, following established, evidence-based protocols. Responsibilities include preparing for each interview, documenting interview outcomes, maintaining accurate records, and participating in case reviews and staffing meetings. The interviewer is expected to participate in ongoing training, adhere to legal procedures, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both English and Spanish, with strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience or training in forensic interviewing, child advocacy, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related human services field.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, and the dynamics of abuse, neglect, and family violence.
- Skills in accurate documentation, case note writing, and maintaining confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary partners, manage sensitive information, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with children and caregivers in stressful situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
- Willingness to complete specialized forensic interviewer training and ongoing professional development as required. Some travel required.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with all agency, state, and federal policies and procedures.
