This position works in collaboration with center staff and community partners to ensure children and families receive comprehensive services according to Head Start Performance Standards.
Family Advocate Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule and conduct quarterly Family Engagement activities collaborating with teaching staff and families.
• Assist in the processing of enrollment, transfer, and termination paperwork of Early Head Start, Head Start, and Child Care Partnership center children.
• Assist in the recruitment and enrollment of Early Head Start and Child Care Partnership children throughout the year.
• Assist and empower families to locate resources and schedule appointments with community resources that best meet their needs.
• Monitor children's attendance and provide support services to the teacher and families as needed.
• Actively engage in team collaboration meetings.
• Enhance job growth through training and education.
• Use a strength-based approach to empower the family, support systems and resources.

Requirements
EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Minimum: An associate's degree in a related field or high school diploma/GED
• Preferred: Baccalaureate degree
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) fluent in reading, writing, and speech of the Spanish language.

EXPERIENCE:
Prefer two years of case management or early childhood classroom experience.
