Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Includes a 30-minute break)

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Patient Registrar to join our medical team for a 13-week contract assignment. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process while providing excellent customer service. This position requires fluency in Chinese/Mandarin and a strong background in clerical tasks, data entry, and healthcare administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and register patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate information is entered into the system.
  • Verify patient insurance details and update demographic information as necessary.
  • Manage and update patient records in the electronic health system.
  • Answer phone calls promptly, providing helpful information to patients and scheduling appointments.
  • Collect and process copays and other payments, ensuring accuracy.
  • Provide support to patients with completing necessary forms and documents.
  • Manage patient flow and ensure appointments are scheduled in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing medical records for patient visits.
  • Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to improve patient experience and clinic operations.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during patient interactions.
  • Assist with managing clinic-specific documentation and coding (ICD-9, CPT-4) as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required), Some College (Preferred)
  • Experience: At least 1 year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting (Required)
  • Data entry skills with a minimum of 4500 keystrokes per hour (Required)
  • Language: Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin (Required)
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology (Preferred), experience with medical office operations and heavy phone call volume (Preferred)
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and telephone etiquette skills (Required)
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9, CPT-4) and health insurance benefits/requirements (Preferred)
