About the Role: We’re looking for an experienced accounting professional to manage day-to-day accounting for our construction company. You’ll own accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and the monthly close, working closely with project managers, management, and our outside accountant.
What You’ll Do: Review, code, and enter vendor and subcontractor invoices in QuickBooks Online, then process approved payments and track terms, discounts, and due dates. You’ll prepare weekly AP aging reports, reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts, and keep records separated by company and project. You’ll also record customer receipts and follow up on overdue balances, maintain job-cost records for WIP reporting, support budgets and cash-flow forecasts, manage vendor W-9s and insurance certificates, and coordinate 1099 reporting at year end. Monthly close and financial reports are due within 10 business days of month-end.
What You Bring: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus 5+ years of accounting experience across AP, AR, monthly close, and financial reporting. You have hands-on QuickBooks Online experience, strong Excel skills, and professional fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written). You’re detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working independently, and trusted with confidential information.
Preferred: Construction industry experience, including job costing and WIP accounting, managing subcontractor accounts, working with multiple entities, and using QuickBooks Online Bill Pay or construction software integrations.
