BI DeveloperThe BI Developer is a key member of the Data Analytics team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI reporting and semantic models that support all lines of the business. This role sits at the intersection of business intelligence, data modeling, and analytics engineering, translating curated data from our Azure / Databricks platform into trusted, performant, and well-governed reporting solutions.This position emphasizes dashboard development, DAX, Power BI semantic modeling, paginated reporting, and disciplined change management.Key ResponsibilitiesPower BI Reporting & VisualizationDesign and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that support operational, accounting, and executive stakeholdersBuild and maintain paginated reports for standardized and regulatory-style or external reporting needsPartner closely with business users to translate requirements into clear, intuitive, and performant reporting solutionsEnsure reports follow established format, performance, and governance standardsSemantic Modeling & DAXDevelop and enhance Power BI semantic models using star schema and dimensional modeling best practicesCreate, optimize, and document DAX measures for complex business logic and KPI definitionsAdd and manage calculated columns, calculated tables, relationships, and role-based logic where appropriateEnsure metric consistency and accuracy across dashboards and reporting layersDevelopment Workflow & DeploymentUse Tabular Editor to manage model metadata, calculations, and advanced modeling featuresLeverage Azure DevOps (ADO) for work management, including Boards, Stories, and TasksParticipate in Git-based development workflows including branch management and pull requestsCollaborate with IT on deployment standards and release processesProject Management & Delivery OwnershipOwn the full project lifecycle from intake through final sign-off, serving as the single point of accountability throughout executionDevelop and manage project plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and delivery sequencingEnsure projects progress through defined review, validation, testing, and approval stagesLead formal sign-off processes, validating that deliverables meet agreed upon requirements and SOW commitmentsTechnical QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or similar)3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or BI Development rolesAdvanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, including: dashboard and paginated report development, DAX development and performance tuning, semantic model designStrong understanding of dimensional modeling and star schema designExperience using Tabular Editor for model developmentFamiliarity with Git-based version control and pull request workflowsExperience working within Azure DevOps for project tracking and deployment coordinationStrong SQL skills and comfort querying curated warehouse tablesPreferred (Not Required)Experience working with Databricks or Azure-based data platformsFamiliarity with Change Management concepts for BI and analytics deploymentsExperience supporting Accounting, Finance, or Operational reportingExposure to Freshworks (or similar ticketing systems) integrated with development workflowsReal estate industry experienceBehavioral QualificationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyAbility to balance business-facing communication with technical depthComfortable working in a structured, enterprise BI environmentOrganized, well-documented, and disciplined in development practicesCollaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced reporting environmentStrong project management skills, including prioritizing competing requests, communicating progress, and delivering business-aligned solutionsBrixmor offers a hybrid work schedule (first three days of the week in the office, the balance remote optional), very competitive pay commensurate with background and responsibilities plus a benefits and perks package that supports career engagement, growth, good health and connection with teammates and our communities.EOE (Brixmor is an Equal Opportunity Employer)
