BHS Administrative Assistant To The Assistant PrincipalThe Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Principal provides essential support to the overall management and efficient functioning of the Team model at Barrington High School. This position contributes directly to the daily operations and functioning of team procedures.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Supports school and district events (i.e., in-service events, Back to School Night, Student/Teacher Conferences, Incoming Freshman Night, College Night, Scholarship Night, etc.)Evaluates situations involving staff, parents, and students to determine appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel for resolutionReceives and resolves concerns and complaints using knowledge of school policies, procedures, rules, and other requirementsEnters student-related documentation into Infinite Campus to maintain accurate and timely recordsDisseminates student suspension timelines to appropriate staff and organizes homework requestsEffectively communicates with parents, students, staff, and administration in person, by telephone, email, or letter to provide detailed information related to students and school and district eventsMaintains, manages, and coordinates Team member calendars for regularly scheduled events and new appointmentsPrepares calendar invites and communicates with all necessary partiesResponds to various inquiries and conveys accurate information about programs and services provided by the school and districtInterprets and communicates policies and procedures to staff, students, and parents professionally and courteouslyUses discretion and sound judgment in referring intricate or time-sensitive details to appropriate administratorsComposes, edits, and creates Team memos, agendas, and other office communication as directedManages Team budgets, facilitates purchase orders, and maintains tracking/receipt paperworkDevelops student data reports and meets regularly with team members throughout the year using various information sources to discuss and record individual students' progressEnters work order and calendar events in School Dude and FS Direct as neededMaintains a clean, safe, and orderly office environmentAttends all other duties as assigned by the supervisorQualifications:Must have a calm, pleasant demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills with various audiences. Must be detail-oriented and able to problem-solve.
