Required Certifications
- Active California LVN license
- EPIC experience within the last 6 months
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- One of the following crisis intervention certifications:
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- ProAct
- PMAB
- MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) - last resort
- Handle with Care
- Recent inpatient psychiatric experience
This unit treats adult patients with the following primary diagnoses:
- ADHD
- Bipolar Disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Eating Disorders
- PTSD
- Anxiety Disorder
- Depression / Major Depressive Disorder
- Psychotic Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
- Substance use disorder (patients are typically medically stable at admission)
- Alcohol or opiate withdrawal (typically stable at admission)
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Geriatric patients at high fall risk
- Patients experiencing pain
- Occasional wound care needs
- Electronic patient rounding (Rover device - used for photos, vitals entry, and food intake tracking)
- ObservSmart monitoring system
