Behavior Specialist

Salary: $28.00/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, flexibility based on needs

Seven Hills Rhode Island is seeking a Behavior Specialist to develop and oversee behavior education services for individuals receiving adult services. In this role, you'll combine behavioral expertise, staff training, data analysis, and person-centered support to help individuals achieve meaningful goals and greater independence.

You'll work closely with Direct Support Professionals, clinical teams, families, and community partners to develop effective teaching strategies and promote positive outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct behavioral and functional assessments and establish individualized goals and objectives.
  • Develop teaching strategies and behavior programs aligned with Individual Support Plans.
  • Monitor and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and individual progress.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate clinical and program documentation.
  • Train and coach Direct Support Professionals on behavioral strategies and teaching programs.
  • Provide Safety Care training and participate in staff training as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings and facilitate staff observation and training sessions.
  • Communicate behavioral, educational, or family concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Promote self-advocacy, independence, dignity, and the least restrictive environment.
  • Collaborate with families, community agencies, businesses, and other professionals.
  • Follow Human Rights policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioral or safety concerns and emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the rights and dignity of every individual served.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Standard driver's license – class C or class D
