Behavior Paraprofessional - Beacon Day Treatment

Position: Behavior Paraprofessional - Beacon Day Treatment Positions: 1 position

Qualifications:

High School Diploma Must meet physical requirements Must meet general qualifications of a paraprofessional Must function as part of a multi-disciplinary team in meeting physical and emotional needs of special education children in a highly structured setting. Familiarity with evidence based and best practices working with students with EI Extensive experience implementing behavior intervention plans and emergency intervention plans Extensive experience using CPI de-escalation and restrictive procedure techniques Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently Experience working with students with EI, preferably in a center program Excellent communication skills Experience with data collection Ability to analyze data, under guidance of the behavior specialist Familiarity with Google Platform Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality Must fulfill "Highly Qualified" Federal requirements, and all State and Federal standards (passed ETS Parapro Assessment and /or Associate's Degree) Excellent attendance and punctuality necessary Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Duties:

Duties and qualifications are subject to review and change Work closely with the behavior specialist and center program staff to respond to crisis situations Ability to work collaboratively as a team to respond quickly in the event of a crisis Ability to provide positive behavior supports to students with and without behavior intervention plans Work with classroom teams to reinforce positive behavior expectations Attend team/parent meetings, as directed Other duties as assigned

Responsible To: Executive Director of Special Education, Special Education Supervisor, and Building Administration

Work Schedule: According to School Calendar Salary: According to AFSCME, Local 849 Master Agreement
