Dream It Forward Foundation is seeking compassionate, dependable mentors to help inspire and empower youth ages 8–25 through meaningful one-on-one relationships. We believe every young person deserves someone who believes in their potential, provides encouragement, and helps them navigate school, careers, leadership, and life.
This is a volunteer mentorship opportunity designed to create lasting impact through consistent support and positive connection. Most mentoring relationships will take place virtually, making it possible for mentors to serve youth from anywhere in the United States. For mentors located near participating families, there may also be opportunities for in-person mentoring when both the mentor and parent or guardian are interested and the match is approved by Dream It Forward Foundation.
Mentors are encouraged to meet with their mentee on a regular schedule, provide encouragement and accountability, listen without judgment, model positive decision-making, support goal setting, and help youth build confidence, resilience, leadership skills, and career readiness. Depending on a mentee's interests, conversations may include academics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, college and career exploration, STEM, mental wellness, life skills, or personal development.
We welcome mentors from all professional backgrounds and life experiences. You do not need to be an educator or counselor to make a difference. We are looking for individuals who are patient, reliable, empathetic, and committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for young people. Strong communication skills, cultural humility, and a willingness to learn are highly valued.
Volunteer mentors must be at least 18 years old and willing to complete our onboarding process, which includes an application, interview, reference checks, and a background screening before being matched with a mentee. Selected mentors will receive orientation and ongoing support from the Dream It Forward Foundation team throughout their mentorship journey.
By becoming a mentor, you will play a direct role in helping young people discover their strengths, build confidence, and prepare for successful futures. Whether you have one hour a week or a few hours each month to give, your time and encouragement can have a lifelong impact.
If you are passionate about investing in the next generation and helping young people dream bigger, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential, we invite you to apply and join our growing community of mentors.
