n** Role Overview **
nThe New Business Development Lead is a commercially driven sales professional focused on identifying, pursuing, and closing new revenue opportunities for Manic Panic—domestically and internationally. This is primarily a hunter role: building pipelines, opening new doors, and expanding Manic Panic’s footprint across retail, professional, e-commerce, and distributor channels. The role also maintains a select portfolio of existing key accounts to support continuity and growth.
nThis is a senior, high-impact role for someone who can both think strategically and execute flawlessly.
nKey Responsibilities
n· New Business Development
no Identify, pursue, and close net-new accounts across domestic and international markets
no Build and manage a robust pipeline; track health, conversion metrics, and activity in CRM
no Execute outbound prospecting via cold outreach, social selling, trade shows, and industry events
no Manage the full sales cycle—from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and close
no Develop territory and market-entry plans; prioritize and pursue high-potential prospects
n· Account Management & Growth (Existing Accounts)
no Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for an assigned portfolio of existing accounts during an initial transition period
no Conduct regular business reviews to assess performance, surface risks, and identify growth opportunities
no Deepen relationships with buyers, planners, and category managers to strengthen Manic Panic’s position within each account
no Identify and pursue upsell, cross-sell, and shelf expansion opportunities within the existing base
no Coordinate with internal teams on promotions, new item setup, and seasonal programs for assigned accounts
n· Sales Presentations & Negotiations
no Deliver compelling pitches and presentations tailored to buyers, distributors, and retail leaders
no Negotiate terms, promotional programs, and long-term partnership agreements
no Attend trade shows and off-site meetings, domestic and international, as needed
n· Cross-Functional Collaboration
no Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Operations to align on launches, promotions, and fulfillment
no Coordinate with Retail Marketing and distributors on product setup, onboarding, and brand training
n· Reporting & Performance
no Deliver accurate sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and market performance analysis
no Monitor account and territory performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
n· Additional responsibilities as needed
nQualifications
n· 6–10+ years of experience in sales or new business development, ideally in beauty, personal care, or consumer lifestyle brands
n· Demonstrated track record of building pipeline and closing new accounts; experience with major retail or global accounts a plus
n· Proven ability to meet or exceed multimillion-dollar revenue targets
n· International sales experience and understanding of regional market dynamics
n· Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
n· Strong business acumen—comfortable interpreting data and driving strategy
n· Organized, polished, and at ease engaging with executives, partners, and founders
n· Must be based in the New York City metro area; This is a 5-day a week in-office role.
