BCC Loan Administrator (SBA Experience Required)Irvine, CAFinancial Services - Commercial BankingEXP 7-10 yrsDEG BachRELOBONUSTRAVELJob Description.Reporting to the BCC Loan Administrator Manager, the Loan Administrator is responsible for carrying their own pipeline of loans in process. Also responsible for leading/training other teammates in regards to providing technical solutions to problems, researching complex issues, making recommendations on procedures and process improvements. This role is specifically assigned the most complex loan servicing functions (including complex SBA 7a credits).
Your major responsibilities will include:Processing – Complex TransactionsPost-loan approval, completes the end-to-end processing and partners with shared services to board and fund the complex creditsDesignated as the team expert with large and/or complex Commercial Real Estate Loans including SBA 504 creditsResponsible for own in-line QC as well as for assigned teamResearch to resolve issues, when appropriate interact with legal department for guidancePartners with the Credit Executives to resolve last minute issues that arise with the collateral prior to ordering documents or boarding/fundingInteract with line management on escalationsReview and release wires up to designated wire limitsMake operational credit decisions/exceptionsRequired to attend annual SBA training to stay abreast of current regulations and programs in order to contain the inherent operation risk with SBA productsLead and Influence Loan AdministratorsEnsure even distribution amongst team members and manage the rush process flow during peak periodsAnswer questions from team members to ensure fast and safe cycle times are metPerform research and make recommendations to Manager as to best practices, process improvements, new product requirements, and system enhancement ideasAssist Manager in establishing and maintaining service level standards for the teamEnsure that work is completed within established SLAsProvide input to Manager for employee performance appraisals and schedulingEncourage collaboration by sharing ideas and knowledge, and help to build an environment which encourages participation and open communicationGrow and strengthen internal partnerships by championing the interests of business partnersProvide extraordinary customer service to internal and external customers, exhibiting competence, consistency, and operational excellenceFunction with a high degree of independenceDevelop training scripts/ exercises for less experienced staff membersConduct training of staff members as directed by Manager, helping to ensure consistency of method across the teamAssist with IRMG, OCC or other auditors/ examiners in providing background, explanations, supporting detailActively participate in all UAT, applying technical knowledge and expertise to ensure viability of enhancementsAct as SME on projects as it pertains to the scope of assigned workRisk and ComplianceEnsure adherence to Bank policies related to credit and compliance, such as: Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Compliance Testing, Risk Management support, due diligence requirements, Risk grading, and Basel II & Basel III complianceQualificationsAt a minimum, the right candidate should meet the following criteria:Technical knowledge to include a thorough understanding of the commercial loan process, loan accounting, and complex commercial loan documentation, including real estateThorough knowledge of bank policies, legal/ regulatory environment, and industry standardsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsExcellent organization and time management skills with attention to detailStrong computer skills, including Excel and AccessTypically requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and 7+ years of technical experience in loan operations and/ or documentationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
