Job Responsibilities

  • Model and train staff in positive behavior support methodology.
  • Provide expertise as a member of interdisciplinary teams regarding behavioral issues.
  • Responsible for behavior plan assessment, design, training, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provide analytical interpretations.
  • Provide direct behavioral treatment to clients via replacement skills training, social skills training, crisis de-escalation, group and individual treatment, and skills coaching in all settings.
  • Monitor restraint use and provide training to reduce its use.
  • Monitor challenging behavior.
  • Participate in behavior intervention committee, human rights committee, and other relevant committees.
  • Provide individualized services to meet treatment needs for specialty intermediate care clinic patients as required.
  • Learn and follow all policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Higher education degree: Doctoral or Master’s in Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline.
  • Experience implementing applied behavior analysis programming with behavioral intervention.
  • Language skills: ability to read, comprehend, write simple correspondence and present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense, solve problems with a few concrete variables, make independent decisions with good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: meet essential functions of the job including knowledge of crisis management procedures (accommodations may be made).
  • Work environment: adaptable to various settings (residential homes, schools, family homes, workplaces, community settings).
  • Computer skills: accurate and objective data recording and entry.
