Batch Plant Operator

Concrete Mixer OperatorOperates concrete mixer to batch materials and transport mixed concrete from the batch plant and throughout the production facility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Mix concrete for all production areasOil, clean and prepare mixer according to work instructions and SOPInspect and adjust all working parts in batch plantMonitor raw materials to insure proper utilization and inventory levelsParticipates in ongoing minor and preventative maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment to keep batch plant cleanInventory and maintain accurate records of all parts and provide notification when orders are neededMonitor concrete temperature in cold and hot weather months and understanding the changes that need to be made to concrete for eachConfer with supervisory personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and recommend solutions to improve performanceEnsure established performance indicators are metAdhere to OSHA rules and regulations at all timesBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent or one to six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceOther Qualifications:Knowledge of concrete mixesAbility to read and interpret production drawingsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceComputer knowledge; including applicable Microsoft and batch house softwareStrong problem solving and communication skillsAbility to perform moderately complex mathematical equations Troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independentlyAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsMechanical knowledgeWorking knowledge of plant maintenance proceduresPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of concrete fundamentalsWorking knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulationsExperience in mixing concrete or ready mixExperience with construction materialsMaintenance experiencePhysical Requirements:Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projectionWork Environment:Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkwayPay range for this position is $25 to $30 per hour.
