Batch OperatorThe Batch Operator blends powder products in the mixing department by following detailed batch instructions and precise measurements for each ingredient. This role involves operating mixing and related production equipment, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds while working with bleach-based outdoor cleaning agents in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesBlend powder products in the mixing department according to specific batch instructions and formulas.Measure and add ingredients accurately to each batch, ensuring correct quantities and sequencing.Operate mixers, blenders, and other production machinery safely and efficiently.Monitor batches during mixing to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times to maintain product quality and safety.Perform basic troubleshooting on mixing and production equipment to resolve minor issues.Support packaging and production activities as needed to meet daily output goals.Operate forklifts to move materials, ingredients, and finished products within the facility when required.Assist with inventory-related tasks, including counting, tracking, and organizing materials.Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly as part of daily production tasks.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).Essential SkillsHands-on machine operation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.Proven mixing or blending experience, preferably with powder products.Demonstrated experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Previous experience as a blender operator or batch operator.Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.Basic troubleshooting skills for production and mixing equipment.Quality assurance mindset with attention to detail in measurements and processes.Ability to follow written batch instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.Additional Skills & QualificationsForklift experience for moving materials and products within the facility.Inventory experience, including counting, tracking, and organizing stock.Experience working with bleach-based or chemical cleaning products in a production setting.Experience in packaging or general production work in a manufacturing environment.Why Work Here?You will join a growing organization that is expanding operations and adding an entire second shift, creating strong opportunities for advancement. Employees may notice a slight odor in the facility due to the nature of the product. The workplace is described as extremely clean, with a strong emphasis on organization and safety. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and includes steel-toe footwear, eye protection, and hearing protection.
The role is scheduled on second shift, working Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with initial training on first shift for approximately two months from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.30 - $18.30/hr.
