BAS/HVAC Controls Project ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a results-driven BAS/HVAC Controls Project Manager to lead the delivery of building automation and HVAC control projects from design through commissioning. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS), ALC and Tridium Niagara platforms with proven project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. This role requires coordination with clients, engineers, field technicians, and subcontractors while maintaining high standards for system performance, reliability, and documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage BAS/HVAC controls projects from kickoff through closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.Serve as primary client and stakeholder point of contact, communicating project status, milestones, and technical issues clearly and professionally.Coordinate and collaborate with project engineers, commissioning agents, field technicians, electricians, and subcontractors to ensure proper installation, integration, and testing of control systems.Oversee system design reviews, submittal approvals, and ensure designs meet project specifications and applicable codes and standards.Manage programming, integration, and configuration activities for Building Automation Systems, including Tridium Niagara and ALC platforms.Develop and maintain project documentation including scopes of work, schedules, change orders, testing plans, commissioning reports, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.Ensure quality control by performing or supervising functional testing, system checkout, startup, and commissioning activities; troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly.Track project financials prepare estimates, monitor costs, approve invoices, and manage change orders to protect project margins.Implement and enforce site safety policies and ensure all field activities comply with company and regulatory safety requirements.Coach and mentor junior project staff and engineers; support team development and knowledge sharing of BAS/HVAC control best practices.QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience managing BAS, HVAC controls, or building automation projects; prior experience as a Project Engineer or Controls Technician a plus.Hands-on experience and strong technical knowledge of Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls, including ALC and Tridium Niagara platforms.Proven project management skills with experience in budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and client communication.Familiarity with control system programming, BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or other common BAS communication protocols.Experience with commissioning procedures, functional testing, and troubleshooting of control systems in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and reports.Valid drivers license; willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as required.Relevant certifications a plus: NICET, CxA, PMP, Tridium Niagara certifications, or manufacturer-specific BAS credentials.BenefitsVacation/PTOMedicalDentalVision401kBonusRelocationTelecommute
