Bartender

One of the most celebrated restaurants in the United States, estela is seeking a thoughtful, driven, and experienced Bartender to join our service team.

Estela is an intimate downtown bistro from chef Ignacio Mattos, celebrated for its ingredient-driven cuisine, attentive hospitality, and enduring presence in New York City's restaurant community. Since opening in 2013, the restaurant has earned a Michelin star and continues to evolve with each season.

We are looking for a hospitality professional with strong technical bartending skills, genuine warmth, and a passion for crafting exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering consistently excellent service.

This position works closely with the beverage and leadership teams to execute estela's cocktail, wine, and beverage program with precision and care.

Weekend availability is required.

Key Focus

• Deliver a warm, refined guest experience through thoughtful and engaging bar service
• Prepare cocktails with consistency, precision, and attention to detail
• Guide guests through the beverage program, offering recommendations tailored to individual preferences and menu selections
• Maintain a strong understanding of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings
• Contribute to a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and continuous learning

Beverage Program

• Execute all beverage service to the highest standards throughout each service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar before, during, and after service
• Ensure all mise en place is prepared and bar stations are service-ready
• Support inventory management, receiving, organization, and proper storage of beverages
• Participate in ongoing beverage education and contribute ideas that support the continued evolution of the program

Team & Communication

• Lead by example through professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail
• Communicate clearly and effectively with the dining room, kitchen, and management team
• Support teammates during service while maintaining ownership of responsibilities
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment built on respect and accountability

Guest Experience

• Create genuine connections with guests through attentive, personalized hospitality
• Anticipate guest needs and confidently recommend cocktails, wine, spirits, and other beverages
• Recognize and build relationships with returning guests
• Handle guest feedback professionally and partner with management to ensure exceptional experiences

What We're Looking For

• Previous bartending experience in a high-quality, detail-oriented restaurant
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service
• Excellent technical bartending skills and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
• A hospitality-first mindset with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Curiosity, humility, and a desire to continuously learn and grow
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
