Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with a specialization in Bariatric Medicine to join their Eating Disorders and Weight Management Center in Fargo, ND. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive weight loss programs. Practice Info

  • Practice in the Eating Disorders and Weight Management Center in Fargo, ND
  • Join a team of three physicians, 2 APPs, nutritionists, and RN health coaches
  • Work in close collaboration with bariatric surgeons and primary care physicians
  • The center offers a comprehensive weight loss program with expertise in obesity treatment
  • Medical management of obesity follows a multidisciplinary approach with four main components: nutrition, physical activity, behavioral modifications, and medication options
  • Program offers evaluation by providers experienced in Bariatric Medicine, individual and group nutritional counseling, health coaching with a registered nurse, and coordination of care with primary care physicians

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations
  • Admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases, and functional disorders of various body systems
  • Provide medical management of obesity following a multidisciplinary approach
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians
  • Research opportunities available

Requirements

  • BC/BE Family Medicine or BC/BE Internal Medicine physician specializing in Bariatric Medicine
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
