Job Description: We are looking for a reliable, energetic barback with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in the bar and hospitality industry. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates the needs of the bartending team, and takes pride in keeping the bar running smoothly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Restock and replenish bar supplies including liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, garnishes, and mixers throughout service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, clearing glassware, and emptying trash
- Assist bartenders during high-volume service by preparing garnishes, juicing citrus, and organizing mise en place
- Ensure glassware is clean, polished, and available at all times
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and rotating inventory and deliveries
- Change kegs, restock coolers, and ensure all equipment is functioning properly
- Support bartenders with basic drink preparation tasks as directed
- Maintain awareness of guests' needs and communicate relevant information to bartenders
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Desired Skills and Qualities:
- Familiarity with bar tools, glassware, and equipment
- Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, lifting, and moving quickly
- Ability to lift and carry cases (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Anticipates the needs of bartenders and guests proactively
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
- Interest in learning mixology, spirits, and cocktail culture
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of barback or bar support experience in upscale, high-volume establishments
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Strong work ethic and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability, including weekends and late nights
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe) preferred
