Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated BSA Program Head to lead our compliance team. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance within an OCC-regulated financial institution . This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the institution’s BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program to ensure regulatory adherence and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program , ensuring full compliance with OCC regulations and federal guidelines.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, including OCC, FinCEN, and other governing bodies , managing examinations, audits, and inquiries.
- Identify and report suspicious activities , ensuring timely and accurate SAR filings .
- Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic oversight of transaction monitoring systems, including system tuning, alert reviews, and escalations .
- Lead, mentor, and develop the BSA/AML compliance team , ensuring proper training and professional growth.
- Stay updated on emerging regulatory trends, rule changes, and enforcement actions impacting OCC-regulated institutions.
- Prepare and present executive reports on BSA/AML program effectiveness, risk exposure, and regulatory updates.
- Oversee independent audits and regulatory examinations , ensuring timely resolution of findings.
- Develop and implement BSA/AML/OFAC training programs for employees across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- 7-10 years of experience managing a BSA/AML compliance program within an OCC-regulated financial institution .
- Strong knowledge of OCC regulations, FinCEN requirements, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC sanctions .
- LLM or law degree a major plus
- FinTech and knowledge of financial payment systems such as wise, stripe or payoneer
- CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification preferred .
- Proven experience in regulatory exams and OCC interactions .
- Strong leadership, team management, and strategic planning abilities.
- Proficiency in BSA/AML monitoring systems and case management tools .
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills .
