Baler/Loader Operator 1Pay Rate: $20.74/hrCategory/Shift: Hourly Full-Time Monday - FridayPhysical Location: 800 N. 48th Street, Springfield, OR 97478The Job You Will Perform:Complete pre-start loader maintenance inspection report (or VCR)Responsible for feeding paper from tipping pad to baler conveyor (all facets of loading the baler)Operate balers according to brand specifications (MacPress, Enterprise, Bollegraff, IPS)Load the baler utilizing either the front loader, skid steer or forkliftRecord grade, percentage of waste in compactor dumped materialMonitor paper feed lineMonitor wire condition and feedMonitor bales for mill readiness including:Adequate wiringProper grade and qualityWeightRecord maintenance activity on equipmentRecord baler downtimeAssist with daily weekly monthly PMs for baler and feed conveyorsOperate shredder and follow all NAID requirements for document destructionEnsure driveway is free of materialKeep paper/plastic from accumulating around property fence linePrevent loose paper from accumulating at the rail dock areaClean pit monthly or as neededRemove material build-up from incline conveyorsAssist with pushing material from inside bunkers onto conveyorCommunicate paper grade to Material Handler to ensure proper storageInform Material Handler of any rejected balesCommunicate with Plant Lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issuesReport the completion of all paper goods to obtain alternate assignmentMaintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standardsAttend and participate in plant safety meetingsManage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usageReport any safety or maintenance concernsAdhere to Plant policies and guidelinesOther duties may be assignedThe Skills You Will Bring:Must be 18 years of ageMust be authorized to work in the United StatesAbility to work any shift as neededAbility to work overtime as neededAbility to read, write and speak English fluentlyAlertness, visual ability, and good communication skillsOn-the-job success in safety, attendance & quality of work expectedAbility to safely replace wire spoolsAbility to be trained on safe baler operation, including Lock-out, Tag out proceduresAbility to operate a Baler, In-feed Conveyors, Forklift, Front Loader, Skid Steer
