Knead Love Bakery is a gluten-free bakery specializing in regional grains, seasonal ingredients, and naturally leavened breads. We craft gluten-free breads, bagels, and baked goods, emphasizing organic, nutrient-dense ingredients and flavorful alternatives to refined sugar. We're proud members of the GrowNYC year-round Greenmarket, with products available through specialty retailers, nationwide shipping, and local NYC delivery.
We're currently seeking an experienced baker to join our team. A background in gluten-free baking is not required. Our current schedule is Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a baker (commercial or professional bakery experience preferred)
- Familiarity with commercial bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, and sheeters
- Ability to work cleanly, collaboratively, and take direction well
- Interest in bread making, pastry, and naturally leavened goods
- NYC Food Handler's Certificate
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout shift, including frequent bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities:
- Weigh, mix, portion, and shape breads, cookies, and other baked goods
- Mill flour for bread production and maintain sourdough starters
- Inspect ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet quality and consistency standards
- Decorate and finish cakes and other baked goods for retail and special orders
- Package baked goods for retail sale
- Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate supply needs to minimize waste and avoid shortages
- Work in a thoughtful, organized manner within a team
- Coordinate order fulfillment for wholesale and shipping as needed
- Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and workspace after production
