If you do, then join us in North Grafton, MA!What You'll DoThe Bagging Machine Operator (BMO) will work with and directly report to the plant's Production Foreman.

The BMO will be directly involved in the monitoring and operation of the auto bagger system and trouble shoot as needed but will be required to work in other areas as directed and should remain flexible.This position will work with various sizes of abrasive grain and put those grains into containers for customer shipments or store in one of several warehouse locations throughout the plant. The BMO will be responsible for working harmoniously and safely within a team environment. This position is 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday from 3 pm – 1 am with occasional hours required on Fridays.Operate, monitor, and support automated bagging equipment on a production lineFeed bags into the machine and ensure proper bag alignment and flowLabel bags accurately per customer and production specificationsAdjust machine settings to maintain product weights within specification and ensure consistent outputVerify bag seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and pallet configurationFill, transport, palletize, stack, wrap, and move finished product to assigned warehouse locationsPerform routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and operator-level preventive maintenanceIdentify, troubleshoot, and correct minor mechanical or operational issues; escalate complex issues as neededMaintain accurate production records, including weights, counts, downtime, and quality checksPerform basic housekeeping tasks autonomously to maintain a safe and organized work areaUse basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, mallets, etc.) safely and effectivelyFollow all safety procedures and manufacturing requirements, including PPE use and lockout/tagout awarenessWork cohesively with supervisors, maintenance, and team members to meet production goals and deadlinesPerform other duties and special projects as assignedConduct start-up, changeover, and shutdown procedures per standard work instructionsMonitor raw material flow and notify supervision of shortages or quality concernsPerform in-process quality checks and report out-of-spec material immediatelyAssist with continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, or efficiencySupport training of new operators or cross-trained team members as neededOperate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks or forklifts) if certifiedWhat You'll NeedTo be successful in this position, you must:Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, certifications or higher education a plusHave the ability to perform basic computer skills and math calculationsDemonstrate mechanical aptitudeMaintain a valid driver's licenseUnderstand the process and perform simple troubleshooting when needed within job scopeBe able to speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a plus)Have the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demandsBe able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand/walk up to 10 hoursBe knowledgeable about fork truck operations or willingness to learnWho We AreWashington Mills is built on values that matter.
