Bag Machine Operator - 2nd ShiftBrookshire, TXCompensation IncludesStarting Pay Rate of $18.75/hour + $1/hr shift differentialOverviewReporting to the Shift Supervisor, Adjuster and Team Lead, the Bag Machine Operator will operate the machine, visually inspecting outgoing products to ensure quality and pack/stack bundles of bags dispensed from the machine. The Operator will ensure production efficiency and quality output.ResponsibilitiesContinuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and proceduresCheck bags for quality defects off the machine, do all quality checks and paperwork as per Quality PolicyFollow all quality policies and procedures. Must comply with all good manufacturing practicesMust comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirementsSafely and efficiently:Change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rollsStart, stop and monitor bag machinery and ensure it is running at the budgeted machine speedThread paper through machine smoothly as requiredPackage bags as specifiedEnsure correct quantities of bags are placed on the pressReport machine adjustments and repairs that are required to Machine tender, Adjuster and/or SupervisorSubmit accurate production reports daily and timelyMeet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by managementQualificationsPrefer to have a High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environmentCapable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customersMust be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisionsShould possess basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilitiesMust be capable of standing for long periods of timeAbility to frequently lift and carry 50 lbsRegularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level.
