Backend Software EngineerLocation: NYC, NY On-site/Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid 3 days onsite/2 days remote. Duration: 6 Months Total Work Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week (need to be clarified) Interview Process: 1-2 Rounds NOTE: NEEDS TO BE A LOCAL CANDIDATE ONLY. onsite first month or two then possibility (at managers discretion) to be hybrid 3 days onsite 2 days remote.Key skills: Graphic Web Designing, Software design principles, UI DesignPosition SummaryThe Digital Services team is seeking a part-time backend software engineer to help build out the future of data and technology for the client. This person will play a crucial role in shaping the daily commute of 3M+ New Yorkers. Our team is responsible for all real-time signage in the subway, the TrainTime app, the Client app, and the processing systems that transform raw data into actionable information for passengers. Experience with any of these in specific is a plus.Basic familiarity with JVM languages, RESTful APIs, message queues, networkingExperience with GIS or location-based data and systems (including ESRI) is a plusExperience and education:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
