The Library Support Backend Developer (Junior / Intermediate) is responsible for developing and maintaining backend services and APIs for the NAL Library Support System and related applications. This role involves supporting system modernization, workflow automation, and operational support, ensuring the smooth functioning of backend infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities:
- Develop backend services and APIs to support library systems.
- Support workflow automation and system modernization initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation and data models.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects.
- Participate in development planning and estimation activities.
- Support cybersecurity remediation activities.
- Maintain GitHub repositories and manage release processes.
- Proficiency in Python and Django framework.
- Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Docker containerization.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub version control.
- Demonstrated backend application development experience.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience in workflow automation tools and techniques.
- Contractors working remotely must attend one in-person meeting annually at Beltsville, MD, 20705.
