Back of House Manager on Duty (BOH MOD)Reports To: Operations DirectorDepartment: Back of House (Kitchen)Position OverviewThe Back of House Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for leading kitchen operations during their assigned shift. This role ensures food safety, speed of service, quality standards, and team development while upholding Chick-fil-A's values. The BOH MOD serves as the primary leader for the kitchen, making real-time decisions to support operational excellence and an exceptional guest experience.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, coach, and support BOH Team Members during assigned shiftsSet the tone for a positive, disciplined, and high-performing kitchen cultureAssign positions, manage breaks, and adjust staffing based on business needsHold team members accountable to Chick-fil-A standards and proceduresCommunicate clearly with Front of House leadership to ensure smooth operationsOperations & ExecutionEnsure food is prepared accurately, efficiently, and to brand standardsMaintain speed of service goals during peak and non-peak hoursMonitor and manage food flow, production levels, and holding timesRespond quickly to operational challenges and make sound decisionsEnsure proper opening, shift transition, and closing procedures are followedFood Safety & QualityEnforce all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standardsEnsure compliance with local health department regulations and Chick-fil-A Pathway standardsConduct line checks, temperature checks, and food safety audits as requiredAddress food safety concerns immediately and appropriatelyInventory & Waste ControlMonitor product usage and minimize waste during shiftsEnsure proper rotation, labeling, and storage of all products (FIFO)Communicate inventory needs, shortages, or concerns to BOH leadershipTraining & DevelopmentWork with Trainers to train new BOH Team Members and develop existing staffModel correct procedures and reinforce best practicesProvide real-time coaching and feedback during shiftsQualificationsPrevious BOH leadership experience preferred (restaurant or quick-service environment)Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and team leadershipAbility to stay calm, focused, and decisive in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skillsMust be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and SaturdaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environmentChick-fil-A Values AlignmentDemonstrates servant leadershipLeads with integrity and accountabilityCommitted to excellence and continuous improvementSupports Chick-fil-A's mission to positively influence all who come in contact with the brandWork schedule8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityDay shiftNight shiftBenefitsHealth insuranceEmployee discountReferral programPaid training
