Consultant PositionScope of WorkRequired consultant experience provided by Contractor, shall include:Two-plus years of progressive cloud database experienceProven experience with Microsoft SQL and Oracle databasesExperience with integration and deployment of SQL with outside sources and applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent team-collaboration skillsPreferred Experience:Experience with Azure SQL Databases (i.e. single, elastic, Managed Instance, IaaS)Azure Data certificationWorking knowledge of ETL tools (i.e. SSIS, Azure Data Factory)Data Warehousing, specifically Azure Data Lake, Snowflake or equivalentExperience defining database systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlinesRequired Duties and Responsibilities of Consultant shall include but are not limited to:Experience in Oracle DatabaseProvide overall migration assistance for Oracle Database to Azure.Provide recommendation and guidance in developing a strategic plan to migrate current Oracle and SQL-backed applications to public cloud.Advise Department on a pathway of governance for achieving Department program objectives.Create and maintain technical documentation of the future system architecture.Performs other related duties as required.Education/CertificationsAll Consultants must have earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or other technology related field or one (1) year of DevOps experience for each year of education.Deliverable(s)Creates, manages, and enhances performance of databases.Coordinates with development staff when updating and migrating web applications in.Net platform;Troubleshoots and resolves incidents and issues identified for the assigned or known databases;Identifies, prioritizes, resolves, documents, and communicates technical and operational issues related to internal software databases;Demonstrates a willingness to engage with end users in a highly professional and helpful manner;Meet with business departments to provide solutions and assist in the architect development to meet their business and end-user needs;Collaborates with other team members effectively;Knowledge transfer to technical staff;Creates system documentation and other artifacts;Properly estimate work efforts and technical challenges (scoping projects).
