Assistant Vice President (AVP), Underwriter Construction Casualty
We are seeking an experienced AVP Underwriter to underwrite midmarket construction casualty business. This role blends technical expertise, relationship management, and strategic sales execution to drive profitable growth. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and renewal submissions, identifying exposures and structuring tailored guaranteed cost construction business
- Underwrite W/C, General Liability and Auto coverage
- General Contractors, Specialty Trades, Heavy Construction, etc.,.
- Analyze risk, pricing, and coverage terms; develop and present competitive proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers in the Western territory with a focus on the NorCal area
- Drive new business through strategic positioning and pipeline development
Qualifications
- 4+ years of underwriting construction industry segments required
- Strong knowledge of General Liability, W/C, and Auto coverages required
- Expertise in guaranteed cost construction business ideal
- Retail brokerage network base in the western territory required
