Avionics TechnicianLTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start-up, is seeking an Avionics Technician specializing in systems integration on research and development flight vehicles. In order to help advance our goal of bringing revolutionary airships to life, the Avionics Technician will work directly with the appropriate company personnel to organize, plan, and execute the troubleshooting, installation, and inspections of various subsystems. This position will also provide flight operational support as required.Responsibilities:Four years' experience in an avionics/electrical career field or two years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two years of aviation experience.Performs tasks to include the removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.Without supervision, performs the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals ensuring a defect free system.Troubleshoots processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.Demonstrates the skills and knowledge required to effectively and efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity.Sets up necessary test equipment; conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.Ensures that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented and ready for inspection.Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 6-S program, and all safety regulations.Qualifications:Minimum 2 years, preferred 5+ years of avionics experienceMaintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience on electrical wiring harnessesPrevious cockpit avionics retrofit experienceKnowledge of high voltage electrical, ESC, BMS, and batteriesPrevious experience managing installation teamsCompliant with all environmental health and safety policies and proceduresProficient in using tools such as multimeters, crimpers, high voltage testers, calibrated tools, calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and other hand toolsProficient in operating man lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and maintenance platformsFamiliarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Sheets) and other basic technologyAbility to get DOT driver licensePreferred:FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenseCompliance Requirements:Background check clearanceDrug Test clearance wherever applicableWhat We Offer!Relocation assistanceExcellent medical, dental, and vision insurance through a PPO plan (100% premium paid for individuals, ~70% for dependents)Company-paid life, AD&D, long-term disability, and short-term disability insurancesParental leaveGenerous PTO + 10 paid holidays401(k) matching up to 6%Lunch and snacks provided every day, including accommodations for all dietary restrictionsMonthly wellness stipendMonthly cell phone stipendYearly education stipend to obtain certifications or take classes in your fieldFun events, swag, and the occasional airship rideAn opportunity to change the world and work with some of the smartest and the most talented experts from different fields$35 - $52 an hour The base range for this role is $35-52/hr, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications.
