Avionics Technicians in Goleta, California

PGS Worldwide is seeking Avionics Technicians in Goleta, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support antenna assembly, RF circuit testing, tuning, and low-rate manufacturing operations. Technicians will perform precision measurements, RF testing, and hardware fabrication while working from engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing instructions.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related avionics experience in an aerospace environment.
  • Experience performing avionics, RF, electronics, or related aerospace manufacturing work.
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, manufacturing instructions, and shop planning documentation.
  • Experience using common hand tools for hardware assembly.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow technical instructions written in English.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and alternate shifts based on manufacturing requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience performing RF or antenna testing.
  • Experience using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
  • Experience with antenna pattern, gain, or VSWR measurements.
  • Experience working in an anechoic chamber.
  • Proficiency with basic shop mathematics.
  • MATLAB experience.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance practices.
  • Strong initiative, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
What You'll Do
  • Perform manufacturing operations associated with antenna assembly, RF circuit testing, and tuning.
  • Assemble hardware using common hand tools.
  • Perform dimensional measurements using calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and related tools.
  • Conduct transmission and reflection measurements using a Vector Network Analyzer.
  • Perform in-process measurements supporting low-rate manufacturing.
  • Conduct antenna pattern and gain measurements in an anechoic chamber.
  • Perform antenna and RF-network VSWR measurements.
  • Record and report test and measurement data.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, schematics, and shop planning documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work Schedule / Shift
  • 9/80 work schedule.
  • Overtime and alternate shifts may be required based on production needs.
  • Less than 10% travel.
Pay
  • $44.29 per hour.
