Avionics Installation Technician 2We are seeking a full-time Avionics Installation Technician 2 at Garmin's location at the Mesa Gateway Airport. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting and testing certified and experimental avionics systems in FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations) part 23, 25, 27 and 29 aircraft.Essential Functions:Develop documentation, testing and training plans for new avionics systems to meet internal/external needsModify aircraft to accommodate panel and remote mounted avionics equipment with demonstrated wiring, termination techniques and harness skillsPrepare new aircraft wiring harnesses in accordance with Engineering drawings and installation documentsTroubleshoot existing avionics installation interconnects with an advanced understanding of repair station practicesAbility to apply solutions and support advanced installationsUse ramp test equipment to verify proper function of installed avionicsPartner with Engineering in development and verification of new installation documentationComplete Repair Station and aircraft paperwork (logbook entries, FAA 337, W&B, etc.)Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirementsMentor lower-level technicians and apprenticesAssist in maintenance and aircraft movement in the hangarBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDMust possess a minimum of 5 years general aviation, maintenance or avionics experience and/or equivalent combination of education, military aviation experience and/or aviation related experienceMust possess experience substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description with installing avionics systems in piston, turbine and turbojet aircraftMust possess demonstrated ability to read/interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and installations manuals with the ability to determine basic system integration and configurationDemonstrated ability of aircraft wiring harness termination techniques, wire harness fabrication and harness installation techniques in general aviation aircraftDemonstrated ability in the operational testing and modification of aircraft pitot-static systems, including aircraft transponder testing and RVSM requirementsKnowledge of FAA Regulations relating to avionics installations, testing requirements and how to apply those to assigned tasksMust possess the ability to routinely bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs.
