If you're ready to make your mark in aviation, we encourage you to apply.Essential Functions:Edit, manipulate and maintain aeronautical data using custom and 3rd party softwareEnsure application of appropriate aeronautical specifications to the data/productsHelp evaluate/process database updates according to established methodologyIdentify/resolve basic issues or risks using proper aeronautical data capture techniquesConduct testing/evaluation of Garmin aeronautical data productsPerform established operations for quality assurance and execute tasks as directed by Team Leader or mentorUnderstand and follow Garmin's Mission Statement and Quality PolicyDemonstrate fundamental understanding of Garmin's Aeronautical Data development processDemonstrate ability to work in a collaborative team environment to achieve goalsDemonstrate ability to use production toolsContribute/suggest ideas on continuous improvement freely and positivelyDemonstrate understanding of the importance of thoroughly documenting work in an organized mannerDemonstrate ability to learn, understand and apply established or new processes with the ability to provide input related to processes/projectsDemonstrate ability to recognize/process multiple source types; translate/culminate necessary information for tasks within standard frameworkIncorporate field knowledge within documented standards framework to identify and creatively solve problemsMaintain/utilize knowledge of industry standards as basis for accurate and dependable data input and manipulationAcquire/maintain DO-200A associate qualifications according to applicable sections of the Personnel Qualification ManualAcquire and maintain DO-200A initial and follow-on training requirements according to applicable sections of the Training PlanInsert, update, and delete records in AeroNavData's DO-200A qualified databaseProcess aeronautical source from the Standard and Non-Standard Aeronautical Information Publications (AIPs) listed in the Data Source ManualAcquire a basic understanding of the ARINC 424 specificationsInterface with NFDC and AeroNav Products associates via e-mail or phone when directedInterface with Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) via e-mail or phone when directedUse and understand database queries written for our Microsoft SQL Server database using the Structured Query Language (SQL)Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in aviation OR private pilot rating OR minimum of 1 year experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description that would allow the associate to complete the essential functions of the Aeronautical Analyst positionExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Demonstrate a basic working knowledge and understanding of aeronautical charting principles relevant to Garmin's business needsDemonstrates industry standards knowledgeDemonstrate great typing skills, familiarity and proficiency with PC applications and Windows Operating System (OS), and the ability to learn new software programs quicklyMust be detail-oriented with the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision and demonstrate ability to prioritize/multi-task in a flexible, fast paced, and challenging environmentDemonstrate good interpersonal and technical communication skillsDemonstrate ability to work and thrive in a technical environmentDemonstrate ability to complete well defined basic tasksDesired Qualifications:Previous work experience as a TERPS Specialist or aeronautical information specialistPrivate pilot license with instrument ratingDemonstrate an understanding of instrument flight rules, instrument procedures, and the United States National Airspace SystemExperience with SQL and database managementKnowledge of Cartography, GIS principles and methodologiesBilingual skillsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
