Aviation Field Service Representative 1We are seeking a full-time Aviation Field Service Representative 1 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for intermediate knowledge of the technical specifications and operation of Garmin avionic products and disseminating knowledge of Garmin avionics products to the team while serving as a consultant on Garmin aviation products to distributors and end customers.Essential Functions:Demonstrate strong communication skills working with challenging customers in stressful situations to solve moderately complex issuesWork closely with dealers installing and maintaining Garmin Avionics products and assist them in solving moderately complex technical and operational problemsUphold Garmin Aviation's reputation and brand recognition for world class support through all communications/interactions with Garmin customers/stakeholdersTravel to dealers in support of the installation/maintenance of Garmin Avionics productsBe knowledgeable of FAA regulations and safety standardsTravel to customers' facilities both domestically and internationally to provide on-site representation/ technical support of advanced or complex avionics installations, systems, and troubleshootingAct as liaison between customer and Engineering teamsAnswer complex/challenging customer and installer technical inquiries regarding Garmin products/systems via telephone, e-mail, and in personDetermine if Garmin avionics equipment needs to be returned to factory for repair or if an exchange is required for out of box failures of Garmin equipment and create RMAs for repair or exchange when necessaryMonitor, document, and report failure trends in Garmin equipmentIdentify/recommend improvements in Garmin products, documentation, and proceduresReview special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriateReview pilot's guides, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals for completeness, technical accuracy, and areas likely to be misinterpretedBuild strong working relationships between Aviation Support, Garmin business segments, and customers and give/receive feedback in a constructive mannerExemplify Garmin's Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and proactively work to improve Garmin's image and cultureRepresent Garmin at industry and professional meetings, conferences and trade shows as requiredAbility to be on a rotation for 24/7 aviation technical support coverageBasic Qualifications:Associate's Degree AND a minimum of 6 years relevant experience, including a minimum of 4 years experience performing avionics installations and troubleshooting OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsMust demonstrate a superior customer-oriented attitudeMust demonstrate strong and broad knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics sub-systemsMust possess proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft OfficeMust be positive, detail/team oriented, and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work proactively/effectively in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision and proven success in solving difficult problemsDesired Qualifications:4-year technical degreePrevious avionics experience in a Garmin distributor facility or an aircraft maintenance facility and/or an aircraft manufacturing environmentPilot's LicenseExperience troubleshooting and installing Garmin avionics systemsKnowledgeable in specifications, capabilities, and operation of Garmin avionics productsGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
