LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading aviation maintenance and aerospace services organization to identify a Director of Maintenance (Conversions) . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing aircraft maintenance operations, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, safety initiatives, and workforce leadership within a complex FAA-regulated environment.
The Director of Maintenance will provide strategic and operational leadership for aircraft maintenance programs, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This individual will lead maintenance teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support organizational growth by maintaining efficient and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Drive a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Lead maintenance planning, resource allocation, and workforce development initiatives.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, staffing plans, and departmental performance.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and business objectives.
- Support customer relationships and ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
- Mentor and develop maintenance managers, supervisors, and technical teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification strongly preferred.
- Progressive leadership experience within aviation maintenance, MRO, airline, or aerospace environments.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance programs.
- Proven ability to lead large maintenance organizations and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing budgets, operational metrics, and continuous improvement programs.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Heavy Aircraft experience.
- Conversion Experience
