Autonomous Truck Integration And Validation EngineerThis is for an Autonomous Truck Integration and Validation Engineer on our 1st shift team.The Automation Validation Engineer position develops, tests, and troubleshoots autonomy software systems used for autonomous machines. This generally includes onboard system validation work that integrates with current machine systems and includes the autonomy sub system areas of Planning, Perception and Positioning technologies, as well as infrastructure areas supporting development of these sub-systems (calibration, simulation, analytics, machine learning development pipelines).The position responsibilities include a strong quality focus through thorough test planning and execution. Thorough documentation and communication of issues is a must.Advanced data analysis and systems analysis efforts and skills are needed to help troubleshoot complex issues from test or customer sites, and to examine information from test sites to improve overall systems performance.Good communication is expected for technical status updates, test plan reviews, and when working closely with other autonomy validation engineers, support teams and product support.Responsibilities:Creating and/or updating test and development plans for autonomous haul truck testingExecuting testing on autonomous trucksAnalyzing test dataTroubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or software issues for autonomous haul trucksThoroughly documenting and communicating issues found during testingWriting test reports and giving recommendations based on testing experienceCollaboration through in-person or virtual meetings, email, instant messaging, or face to face communicationA handoff meeting is held each day to prep 2nd shift on work and priorities for testing that nightTechnical Skills Required:Computer literate (windows operating system)Troubleshooting issues in complex systems (Diagnose and fix issues in intricate systems involving mechanical, electrical, and software components.)Ubuntu or Linux operating systemsTest planning/documentation (Develop detailed plans for testing autonomous systems.)Electrical schematics (read and understand electrical diagrams.)Autonomous systems such as perception, planning, or positioning (Know how these technologies work in autonomous machines.)Experience testing or developing of control systems, vehicles, engines, or technologies such as autonomy.Data Analysis experience -Analyze Test Data ( Interpret complex data to identify problems and improve system performance.Soft Skills Required:Problem SolvingThe ability to communicate technical informationThe ability to work independentlyTeamworkTime ManagementEducation & Experience Required:Requires a bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum or in lieu of a degree experience in test or development of control systems, vehicles, engines, or technologies such as autonomy.
