Automation TechnicianSirius Staffing is hiring Automation Technicians for a direct hire opportunity in Bay Minette, AL. This role reports to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability & Automation Leader of the manufacturing unit. Schedule: Rotating shifts (2/3/3/2 days to nights) — initial training will be conducted on days.

Compensation: BOE - Candidates with hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs may be considered for a higher compensation.ResponsibilitiesMaintain computer software, hardware, and all facets of automation controlsPerform hardware and software upgrades to PLCs, Micro Controllers, and Process Computer SystemsServe as the on-shift technical leader for process automation systemsProvide on-shift automation support and training to team membersTroubleshoot systems, coordinate project work, and maintain equipment functionality in conjunction with operations and maintenance teamsCollaborate with and support Engineering on automation projectsInspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automation devices in production equipment to minimize downtimeSupport Mechanical and Electrical crews by accessing computer logics, following PLC signals, and inspecting sensors and instrumentsRepair and replace defective components in Remote I/O panels and Controller CabinetsMaintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repair histories, and equipment performance metricsEmbrace Safety Absolutes to build a zero-injury culture and core cultural beliefs of Be Authentic, Say Anything, Be Open, and Build TrustMinimum QualificationsHS Diploma/GED or 5+ years of industrial experience required5 years of industrial experience and/or a 2-year degree/certification preferredKnowledge and ability to follow safety procedures and standards, including NEC and OSHA; proper selection and use of PPE; Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), grounding, arc flash prevention, machine guarding, and alternative means of controls when troubleshooting live circuitsPLC knowledge, including Ladder (LAD) and Function Block Diagram (FBD) logicMust have experience with operating, maintaining, and performing troubleshooting on Network Control Systems (NCS)Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic circuitsAbility to analyze trend graphs and feedback from field sensors; work with digital and analog I/O in 24Vdc or 110VACAbility to execute PLC and HMI project backups and create restoration proceduresFamiliarity with Ethernet networks and basic hardwareComputer skills, including Windows patching, setup, backups, and antivirus/cybersecurity basicsBasic understanding of Virtual Machines, thin clients, and industrial interfacesStrong written and oral communication skills; experience with CMMS preferredWillingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidaysPreferred QualificationsRolling, casting, or strip process experienceAbility to read prints, single lines, process flows, and network diagramsCisco or Rockwell network hardware configuration and troubleshootingPRP experienceIndustrial networking protocols (ModBus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.)Software experience: Studio 5000/Logix 5000 (2+ yrs), FactoryTalk View Studio (2+ yrs), TIA Portal, WinCC HMI, AVEVA Pi, IbaPDA, MS SQL, Octoplant, ThinManager, VMWareProgramming skills: C#, Ladder, SQL, PythonFamiliarity with surveillance camera circuitsPhysical RequirementsNear constant standing with frequent walking; occasional sittingOccasional below-waist work, climbing, balancing, carrying, reaching, and fine motor tasksOccasional lifting up to 35 lbs; push/pull and lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to work at heightsBenefits:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceHealth savings accounts – Company Funded Health Savings Account (HSA) and Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)Company-paid basic life insurance and Additional voluntary life coveragePaid vacation and competitive personal time off401(k) savings plan with company matchRetirement savings plans – medical and prescription drug coverage through private exchangeEmployee assistance programs – available 24/7 to you and your familyWellness and Work Life Support - career development and educational assistanceSirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
